Royal occasions, chieftains with their henchmen, family groups, associations   celebrating an event and eminent citizens, all of them posed for Lala Deen  Dayal. Often the groups were as large as 300 people and he had his own unique manner and style of composition to ensure, visibility of maximum heads.  Inspite of the long exposure in available light, the groups are cameos of those times and they are remarkable for their sharpness.
